In 2014, Andrew created the very first map as a gift for a close friend who loved the nations and dreamed of following God around the world.

What began as a simple idea soon became something more when God spoke to Andrew about drawing the places on His heart – specifically the nations of the world.

Fast forward to 2021, Andrew and Erika got married and started dreaming of building a business together. This journey has taken some serious steps of faith, but in God’s goodness He has confirmed this path to us over and over again. We both got our degrees in design, so when we got married, we knew God had a purpose for us to use our skills together.

That’s when Wonder Maps was born. 

Our First map, Europe the Glorious

It hasn’t been easy or quick, but it has been a joy that has brought us deep satisfaction. With our combined fine arts training, we care deeply about creating work that is beautiful, high quality, and intentional. We don’t want to simply add more things to the world – we want to create more meaningful beauty on earth. After all, God gave the earth to us, as it says:

“God has given the Earth to the children of men - the Heavens belong to the Lord but the Earth He has entrusted to mankind.”

– Psalm 115:16 NIV

We believe that the world is gift from God. And if it’s a gift, then why not give something that’s beautiful?

There are many Bible verses describing God’s love for people and the earth, and it’s our simple desire to show that. Through creating beautiful art pieces for your space, we hope they mark something meaningful in your life – whether that’s evoking trips already taken or stirring up fresh adventures – we pray each piece (inspires you to follow the dreams God has placed in your heart) invites you to wonder at the world God made and all the stories within it.
